ReplyDeleteI have presented with mild thoracic pain. I had a moderate to severe scoliosis which mean curve spine. I was having lots of problems like having an unsound sleep, back pain, difficulty in breathing. I was told by my mom’s yoga teacher to go for Pilates. To be honest, I had no idea what was Pilates at first. Never heard about it before. So then, my mom brought me there. After a few lessons of Pilates, I felt so much better. Less pain on my back, can sleep well at night, I do not feel the continuous pain in my shoulder anymore. I learnt many things from Pilates that I have to be aware of breathing and alignment of the spine, aim to strengthen the deep muscles and standing the right posture. I will feel myself light and tall when I stand In a right posture. Furthermore, I always feel the sense of lightness in myself after having Pilates. It feels good! =) Teacher Yvonne also thought me how to sleep in a right position. Usually I will have back pain once I’m awake, but now when I sleep at the right position, the pain has gone. As I develop my core strength, I develop stability throughout my entire upper body. This is one of the ways Pilates helps me overcome the pain. Each time after Pilates lesson, it makes me feel better and with stress and tension free. I would love to thank my teacher Yvonne for being so patient with me even I , myself know that sometimes I won’t be able to do what she wants from me. Without teacher Yvonne, by now I will be suffering with pain. So, thank you so much teacher! I have gained so much from Pilates.
